Raytheon Cycle Counting
Opportunity
Raytheon C3i in Largo, Florida desired to strengthen the internal development of their employees on the front line bench. Through the creation of a Manufacturing Engineering Training curriculum, employees from bench technicians to design engineers would be able to access training and development online in a self-paced study environment.
Because of the tremendous amount of components, parts and inventory required in the manufacturing process, a method for inventory control and measurement was needed to improve efficiency. Driven by the Six Sigma and ISO 9000 teams, a program for cycle counting was desired.
Solution
The first step in implementing a cycle counting procedure in the manufacturing environment was a basic orientation and training module. This would encompass a broad overview of concepts and outline procedures for implementing cycle counting into the culture of inventory control.

Download the facilitator's guide for the introductory coursework of the Cycle Counting curriculum. Due to the classified nature of the curriculum, only the introductory segment in edited form is presented.
